When Michelle and Kirk told me they were graduates of the University of Chicago, I immediately knew I wanted to photograph their session on the campus. I assumed it was beautiful, and it would most definitely be a place of special meaning to them. Thankfully, they had thought the same thing. I didn’t realize just how beautiful this campus is though. I am someone who LOVES ivy (maybe that’s the Cubs fan in me), which probably makes me biased as the University of Chicago‘s buildings are covered in it. I could have stayed there for hours. I’ll just have to find a way to make sure future engaged couples that have attended UofC come to me, so that we can shoot here again (wink, wink). Thankfully, we had a second location on the list for Michelle and Kirk’s session or it may have been midnight before I sent them home. As you scroll down, you’ll see we stopped at the Oak Street Beach. Kirk, proposed at The Drake hotel, so having this building in the background was meaningful as well. They are such a wonderful couple. I’m looking forward to capturing their 2017 wedding.
